Gain awareness of your body's response to the movement and/or actions of your horse. An equestrian workshop for riders and movement enthusiasts of all levels and disciplines.
Using the Wunda Chair in the Pilates studio, the springs create force coming up from the ground much like the bounce from the footfalls of your horse. In this workshop we’ll use the “Chair” to reveal held tension that interrupts the idea of distribution or absorption of the forces coming up from below. We’ll explore pelvis position and how it becomes the distribution center sending the bounce of the horse's gait through the whole body. You’ll find a softness in your back improving your sitting trot, half halts and downward transitions, you’ll feel more secure jumping, and respond better to spooking, bolting, bucking etc. Letting go of held tension carries over to your post ride experience reducing back pain and soreness.

For over 17 years Karin Locher has been building on her quest to understand and explore the phenomena of the ‘vital force’ (and lack of) that determines both our health and performance. With the new insights coming from the recovering research of Fascia and with Thomas Myers' revolutionary Anatomy Trains she created a pioneering new application for Spatial Medicine: 'Changing movement, mind and structural-relationships to change the person.'
Karin’s long standing fascination with the vital force, or lack of, is changing people and changing lives - a methodology that influences to re-store and re-set the neuro-myo-fascial system, thus enabling the body to do what it does best, keep us well. The result is Spatial Medicine. A medicine she believes is far more appropriate for the 21st century symptoms and syndromes that we are seeing.
Cody, a well known former radio personality in Houston Texas, found Pilates at the recommendation of her chiropractor in 1999. The journey has led her to comprehensive certification through PEAK Pilates and eventually studio ownership. She also completed Discover, Move, Inspire (DMI) - Master Pilates Teacher training. While assisting on a DMI research paper she learned about Karin Locher and the Bridge to CPM. That led to Bridge I, Anatomy Trains, and most recently completing Karin’s CPM Certification programme.
Cody is the Co-Owner of Performance Pilates in Sugar Land, Texas. With a lifelong love of animals, equestrian sports and fitness, the potential of CPM education was easily recognized. This work will be hugely beneficial to riders, athletes, and participants of any sport or occupation, including “Life”.
